Dear colleagues and friends
after so many years of clinical and didactic commitment pursued together with my precious collaborators, I could not resist the desire to close my long professional history by once again celebrating an educational meeting with all my colleagues who have not tired of seeing me, listening to me, and comparing notes with me.
Here, then, is our opportunity to meet once again to share and deepen together that inescapable pathway that all those who wish to become good or excellent surgeons in the reconstruction of pelvic floor pathology must take.
We will do this path with the ‘masterclass’ formula, i.e. relatively short meetings dedicated specifically and exclusively to topics well catalogued in the pelvic surgeon’s training pathway: from anatomy to reconstructive surgery.
The Faculty is made up of the best national experts in the specific subject; I have included a foreign guest because of the friendship and sharing of scientific educational and training paths over the years.
As you can see, the topics of this first masterclass are related to the pathology of the central and anterior genitourinary segment; there will be two more meetings in which the posterior sector, the management of complications, and the diagnosis and treatment of vesical and rectal fistulous lesions and 4th degree lacerations in childbirth complications will be addressed.
In short, 2024 could be an interesting and generous year that will offer a lot of educational material to all those who want to implement their clinical skills in pelvic floor pathology and its reconstructive surgery.
How will we do this together? By starting with anatomy, especially functional anatomy, which is the basis for reconstructive surgery strategies.
We will learn about the complications of our surgical choices, whether towards fascial rather than prosthetic surgery, and we will learn how to prevent complications and how to repair them.
So: welcome and good work to all!!!!
